Distilled in 2001 with a sherry cask finish, which, terms of aromas, is even more well-developed and complex than its previous Bowmore editions. On the flavour palate we find the same smoky, peaty intensity, accompanied by an exquisite richness that makes it sweeter and more full-bodied. On the finish a new and remarkable ingredient is introduced - malted barley.
The precise initial nose offers a herbaceous, salty, iodine and floral peat. Allowed to breath it becomes exotic and medicinal. The concentrated attack is smoky and mineral. The silky finish invites us to bite into a juicy pear. Quickly, however it returns to smoke and leaves us with an intensely malty after-taste.
